The Literary Freedom Project is a Bronx-based 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit arts organization that believes cultural identity is a fundamental cornerstone in developing smart, creative, and engaged communities. These qualities, on which cultures are sustained and strengthened, are honed, in part, through a mix of immersive reading –academic, vocational, and pleasure.
Our programs seek to build a cohesive conversation that places books, culture, and education at the center of all program development.
One Book One Bronx hosts public restorative conversations related to gentrification, social justice, women’s empowerment, criminal justice, racial inequality, and more.
The Mosaic Literary Conference provides a platform for literature-based creative thinking and knowledge sharing. The conference is supplemented by lesson plans for high school educators and Mosaic, a literary magazine.
