MAARS urgently needs to move to a facility with both indoor and outdoor spaces where parrots have more room to fly, socialize, and exhibit natural behaviors. Unlike dogs and cats, which are fully domesticated, parrots remain largely wild and have unique physical and psychological needs.
Without adequate space to move and fly, parrots can develop serious health and behavioral problems, including muscle atrophy, obesity, feather plucking, aggression, and stress. Our current facility cannot provide the flock with the space they need to thrive.
