Trans people have always and will always exist! Know you are loved and we will not stop fighting until the rights of trans people are safe and secure and folks can exist as their authentic selves in peace.

Trans people have always been here. Transgender Youth deserve to have birthdays. They deserve to live in a society that doesn't ostercize them for their existence. Every Transgender person deserves to exist, and to grow old as the person they feel that they are truly meant to be. The bills passed in Alberta encourage people in society to ostercize and outwardly express hate and discrimination towards Transgender youth, adults and elders. It encourages hate-based violence, workplace discrimination, hate speech, abuse of all kinds, ostercization, harassment, and even murder. The Alberta government has no clue what gender affirming care means, and they continue to spread disinformation about the Transgender community, especially about trans youth. What gender affirming care looks like per individual deserves to be kept between doctor and patient. Doctors deserve to be able to treat their trans patients with evidence-based practices. Gender affirming care can be as simple as attending counseling sessions. To have a safe space to discuss how they are feeling with a professional who has the evidence-based skills and knowledge to help. Help trans youth feel they have a place in society, so they may grow old. Not just old, but physically and emotionally healthy. Surrounded by people who accept their existence, and aren't given permission to cause unjust physical or emotional harm to them. Simply existing as oneself shouldn't be an every day battle. Society makes it that way. Let's teach society that transgender people of all ages belong here and are safe and protected here! Trans people are people who deserve gender affirming care.

Trans rights are human rights. Trans youth deserve to feel safe, supported, and cherished, without exception or excuse. As adults, it's our job to protect ALL children.

I’m sorry we can’t make it to Sunday’s legislature rally but we continue to support your important and (sadly)necessary work. When we stand together to support trans rights as human rights we really can make our world a better place for everyone!

The UCP abuse of power must be stopped! Our trans community depends on it, as will other marginalized groups as the abuse spreads.

As a trans ontarian, I am appalled by the recent actions of Smith and her caucus. The way she and her members are going about this is completely unacceptable. Canada despite some of our history being dark has always been a shining beacon to people of the lgbtq+ and others across the world. We need to set an example that this hate and bigotry is not welcome in Canada!
