Goal
Due to the international travel ban and lockdowns imposed because of COVID 19 and the ensuing tourism crisis that has resulted, Antbear Lodge has seen a need to assist our local communities even more than previously. Massive job losses have resulted in a community that is is in distress. It's become a far greater problem than just helping our own staff and their families. The unemployment situation is now resulting in increased pressure to poach wildlife and people are going hungry. This fundraising campaign assists our local community and their families in this critical time of need.
Antbear Lodge has a sustainable ethos and has a tradition of investing in our local community with social programs like supporting the local primary school and an entrepreneur development program. Antbear Lodge is also home to a menagerie of rescued animals too.
It is clear that those that are the most resilient to the effects of COVID 19 crisis are those that are more self-sufficient who are growing their own food. Of course, everyone is short of money but at least those growing their own food are not hungry. So we are attempting to replicate our own proven self-sustaining principals within our local community. We just don’t have the resources to do this on our own so are asking for your help.
We would like to set up as many permaculture gardens as we can and get started with some small scale broiler and egg production within our communities. We are also attempting to include honey production.
You can donate any amount and it will be appreciated and do good.
All income donated will be used to continue with our community development entrepreneurial and self-sufficiency program. We know that helping people to help themselves by concentrating on self-sufficiency in the community with an emphasis on making our community more resilient to the effects of COVID 19 on their livelihoods.
From Andrew, Conny and the whole Antbear Team
