Goal
Over the last month, COVID-19 has caused affected all of us in many different ways. While all of us have been hurt by this virus, some have lost everything. At Speedy Tuk Tuk, our drivers must earn their income day by day, however, per nationwide mandate by President Andry of Madagascar, all transportation services are shut down, leaving our drivers without any form of income for the next two weeks. While we have superseded lease payments for all drivers, this does not help them to feed their family day to day. We will that we have the opportunity to help all 134 drivers and their families during this troubling time.
We were overwhelmed with the response over the last month with people helping us, and we are reaching out again and asking for your help. Last week, Nevaloni Pulotu, a local artist donated 36 custom made rice bowls. We will give a rice bowl for every donation worth of $25 for the next week.
It costs just $0.11 USD to provide 1 person 1 meal. We are looking to raise $1500 to provide 13,640 meals to help our drivers eat and feed their families until they can work again! $1500 is enough to purchase enough food to help feed all 139 of our drivers and their families for the duration of the mandatory quarantine. *As little as $10 is enough to help an entire family bridge the gap through this period.
