Childhood sexual abuse can have lifelong impacts on mental health, physical wellbeing, relationships, self-esteem and social connection. Many survivors live with the effects of complex trauma for decades before seeking support, often experiencing ongoing trauma, social isolation, disadvantage and barriers to accessing help.
For forty years, Stepping Out has provided free specialist support for women survivors of child sexual abuse. Through counselling, therapeutic groups, social connection programs, workshops and practical support, we help women heal from trauma, rebuild confidence and reconnect with their communities.
We believe that cost should never be a barrier to recovery. That's why all of our programs are provided free of charge.
Stepping Out receives little ongoing funding and relies on the generosity of donors, community supporters and grant funding to continue our work.
Your donation helps ensure that women survivors can access the specialist support they need, when they need it. Together, we can reduce isolation, foster connection and support women to build safer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.
Thank you for helping women step out from the isolation of trauma and into a community where they feel heard, understood and supported.
