Help us build a new home for Snow Leopards at Wellington Zoo. As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on our community members like you to help support new projects at the Zoo and our work to save wildlife and wild places. With your generous donation, we can bring to life this new habitat, which will be home to the only pair of Snow Leopards in New Zealand - Asha and Manju. Asha and Manju are sisters who were born in January 2020 and currently live at Melbourne Zoo.
Helping us to build the Snow Leopard habitat will be a fantastic way to create an amazing space at Wellington Zoo for kids and families to enjoy, now and into the future. This will be a cornerstone habitat at Wellington Zoo.
Asha and Manju will be amazing ambassadors for their species and Wellington kids and families will have the opportunity to learn all about Snow Leopards, who are classified as vulnerable in their range states. The new habitat will have interactive spaces for visitors to learn about the threats to Snow Leopards and what we can all do to help them survive for future generations.
We really appreciate every contribution towards this project, and if you can’t contribute we appreciate your support when you visit your Zoo. Please make sure you keep an eye on this page and the Zoo’s social media channels as we update you on how the habitat is progressing and getting one step closer to welcoming Asha and Manju to the Wellington Zoo whānau. Me tiaki, kia ora!
