Shalom from Jerusalem,
As we approach the season of Hanukkah, a time when we celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and the resilience of our people, I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea. The challenges we face today require the same unwavering spirit of dedication and unity that our ancestors demonstrated in the face of great threats.
Israel is waging a dual battle: defending our homeland against external enemies on the front lines, while confronting a deeply insidious threat from within—Christian missionaries infiltrating our communities. Their actions have reached shocking new heights, targeting our brave soldiers, exploiting war-weary and vulnerable communities, and undermining the very core of our Jewish identity.
This past year of 2024, Outreach Judaism had to face the following challenges:
Missionaries in the IDF: Within the Israel Defense Forces, where unity and strength are paramount, missionaries have embedded themselves with the intent to evangelize Israeli soldiers. They claim to stand with our people, but their hidden agenda is to convert them.
Humanitarian Aid with Hidden Motives: In the South and the North, as hundreds of thousands of Israelis are called to defend our land, missionaries are entering vulnerable communities like those in the Gaza envelope. Under the guise of humanitarian aid, they are pushing their message of conversion at a time when these communities are most fragile.
The Continuous Legal Battle for Truth: Adding to these challenges, Lehi Lapid, wife of former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, is suing me personally for exposing missionary activities in Israel. This case is not just about me—it threatens the very foundation of truth and transparency. If Outreach Judaism is silenced, missionary activities will go unchecked. The court battle is a financial drain on our organization, but we cannot afford to give up.
My Own Personal Struggle: On a personal note, after flying back and forth from Israel-USA for 7 months, my beloved father, of blessed memory, recently passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. My family is in mourning, and we ask for your prayers to give us strength during this difficult time.
For more information regarding our challenges, please refer to the video above.
Despite the personal and organizational challenges, our mission remains steadfast: protecting the Jewish people from those who seek to undermine our faith. But I cannot do this alone. Outreach Judaism depends on your generosity to continue this vital work.
Please, stand with us today. Every donation, whether large or small, helps us in this critical fight. Together, we can protect the Jewish people and ensure our heritage remains strong for generations to come.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your partnership in this battle.
May the Jewish people merit the victory of Hanukkah once again.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Tovia Singer
