Rusty Halo Foundation is a non profit organization focusing on giving foster teens a chance. The Foundation is working on developing Rusty Halo Ranch so foster teens have an opportunity to come live on the ranch, or be a part of the ranch, where they will have the opportunity to engage in experiences such as working with horses, growing food, fixing up cars, art, music, sports, construction, and more. The ranch will be a safe and stable environment to make connections and discover what they want to pursue for their future. The program will not end for them at 18 and will continue to support them and help them until they are able to complete college, or trade schools, and function on their own.
Horses and other animals such as therapy dogs are a big part of the ranch. Being able to bond and create a connection with an animal will help the teens find that stable base. The teens that connect to the horses will be able to volunteer with therapeutic riding lessons, learning what it means to help others with special needs. Providing ways for the teens to give back to the community helps them build confidence and self esteem.
Community and building strong, healthy relationships will be the anchor to the Rusty Halo programming, Tiny trailers will surround the farm house with some being guest trailers utilized for reintegration with any family members that will hopefully be able to find their way back to the teens. Sundays on the ranch will encourage members of the surrounding community to come and share food and inspiration with the teens, creating memories and opportunities for mentoring.
Sponsorships are needed for the following:
Building the Farm House
Building the Barn with an indoor arena
For any donation or sponsorship for a full build of a specific piece of the ranch, a dedication and signage may be available as deemed appropriate and approved by the Rusty Halo board of directors.
