Dear Friends,
Because of you, I wake up every morning enamored by my life’s work. As One Bead grows, I have the privilege of watching that progress ignite potential in our students. I learn that seven-year-olds are capable of understanding the injustices behind gender stereotyping. I witness sixth graders rally courageously around the issue of gun violence. And I hear seventh graders express anxiety over the mental health of their peers.
If we want to see changes in drop-out rates, decreases in incidents of bullying, and higher overall attendance, then the first thing we must do–as parents, educators, and community leaders–is listen. We must include our students in conversations where we decide what the future looks, feels, and sounds like. We must cultivate leaders not solely defined by their intelligence but also by their passion, empathy, and resilience.
Without support from individuals like you, my team and I simply cannot be in the classroom, working closely with school teachers and administration, to provide the mentorship, education, and access to new opportunities that every child deserves. Please consider making a gift and joining our community of change-makers worldwide.
Most Sincerely,
