Our board member, Gillian Green, is climbing a mountain in Nepal this month! Not just any mountain, Ama Dablam! Ama in Nepali means mother, and Dablam means charm box, a special pendant worn by elderly Sherpa women that hold precious items. Hence the name Ama Dablam roughly translates to “The Mother’s Pendant”. At 22,000+ feet, this is no easy task! This summit requires ice and rock climbing skills and is part of the Everest region in the Himalayan range. May 23rd is the United Nation’s designated International Day to End Obstetric Fistula. Gillian is taking this opportunity to raise money for our projects that focus on maternal health and fistula care.
Please support Gillian as she climbs Mountains for Mamas! We’ll be rooting for her!
