This scholarship is endowed by Mother Tibbs daughter, Sonya Tibbs and son-in-law, Kenny Anderson who became her primary caregivers in their home in the final years of her life. After her transition in December 2022, I learned that Mother Tibbs attended AAMU many years ago, and although she did not complete her degree, she wanted to become a social worker. This scholarship will go to support the academic success of undergraduate and graduate students majoring in social work and who have shown resilience in the pathway to graduation.
