Be a Lifesaver for Cats Like Mario
Beltsville Community Cats (BCC) is asking for your support to save sick and injured cats in desperate need of care.
BCC is a rescue nonprofit helping the stray cats in the Beltsville, Maryland area through several efforts including TNVR (trap-neuter-vaccinate-return), foster care, and adoption. Since 2019, BCC has aided over 2,000 cats, including adopting out over 850 kittens and cats to loving homes. Members of the community know they can reach out to our organization and volunteers will step into action to take care of cats in need.
Grants cover spay/neuter surgeries, but for emergency medical treatments BCC relies exclusively on donations. Cats like Mario - a tiny kitten born with pectus excavatum (funnel chest), a condition that will crush his heart and lungs. Mario needed expensive, live-saving surgery, and without quick action, he wouldn't have survived. Today, thanks to donors like you, he's a thriving, affectionate little guy on the road to recovery. Click here to see Mario's progress and other heartwarming stories.
And Mario isn't alone. BCC takes in cats and kittens with difficult but curable health issues that many other rescues do not. From kittens battling such things as upper respiratory infections, eye infections, ringworm, and calicivirus to cats needing urgent surgeries, BCC steps in to save lives when no one else will. Every dollar you give provides medicine, supplies, and care that transforms fragile lives into healthy, happy companions ready for loving homes.
Give the gift of life to some of Beltsville's most vulnerable kitties. Mario, Athena, Sable, Buckwheat, Biscuit, Zora, Benjamin, and all of us at BCC thank you for being their hero.
Mario's foster parent immediately noticed that something was unusual with Mario's chest. |

Mario was taken to the vet, and X-rays showed the distinctive signs of funnel chest. He was going to need an expensive surgery, and the sooner the better. |

Mario is doing great post-surgery, sporting a chest cast. He is a happy, sweet boy who loves being held and purrs loudly. He still has a long road to recovery ahead of him for a couple months, but we are determined to see him through it! |
