As many of you know, I recently spent three and a half months in Cambodia, helping Children’s Future accommodate students with special needs. It was amazing to see all of the students fighting the odds and pursuing an education. The students’ dedication was humbling.
I especially connected with English class 103. The students were smart and passionate, and we always had a good time together. [This is where we would add some more personal details].
Sadly, going to school is still seen as a luxury in rural Cambodia, and the students in English 303 face immense challenges to their education. Some are pressured to leave school early to work; others can’t afford the uniforms and school fees; even the most dedicated students may not have lights in their home with which to do their homework.
So, I’m asking my friends and family to help me guarantee that these kids have every opportunity possible to stay in school and get a good education. All it takes is $5 a month–that’s one trip to Starbucks!
Reaching our goal of $350/month will mean that each of these students continues to receive Children’s Future’s full suite of academic support, from education advocates, who ensure that students are getting the most out of public school, to our high-quality after-school program that gives each student the education they deserve.
Let's Keep these students in school!
