Goal
As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support and love you have shown us during one of the most challenging times of our lives. It's hard to believe that a year has passed since Sam underwent his life-saving liver transplant on February 28th, 2023, following his diagnosis of liver cancer in August of 2022.
Throughout this journey, your unwavering support has been our anchor. From the emotional encouragement to the practical assistance, we couldn't have made it through without each one of you. Your kindness sustained us during our time in Salt Lake City, where we juggled two households and navigated the financial strain of medical bills. We were deeply touched by your generosity, and while the road ahead may still have its challenges, knowing that we have such a strong network of friends and family behind us gives us strength.
Financially, the past year has been incredibly tough. We've maxed out credit cards and are now in debt consolidation, with ongoing medical expenses that seem to never end. However, as we move forward, we are exploring options to streamline our expenses, including having Sam's check-ups in Denver to be closer to our sons. This decision not only saves us money but also allows for more precious time spent with family.
Despite the hurdles, Sam has shown remarkable resilience. He returned to work soon after coming home from SLC and has managed his rigorous medical schedule with grace and determination. We even managed to enjoy some camping trips last summer, cherishing those moments with our boys and friends.
We also want to assure you that, despite all the challenges we've faced, we have not intended to overlook or ignore anyone, and we are immensely grateful for each and every one of you.
As we look back on this year, we are reminded of the power of faith, love, and community. We are grateful for each day together and for the blessings that have kept Sam with us. Thank you for being a part of our lives and for your continued love and support.
Blessings to all, Samy & Julie
