Help us keep The Arc’s mission in motion during the COVID-19 pandemic: that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) will continue to live the lives they choose as valued, contributing and equal members of their community.
Over 75% of people served by The Arc no longer have family active in their lives. As such, The Arc has become their family and sole source of support, with Direct Support Professionals at the frontline of this care now and every day.
The people we serve and the disability community at large are one of the most vulnerable groups impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Many receive vital medications, treatments, and services that cannot be administered from a 6 foot distance, while others depend on the distribution of food from our United Way Food Bank and medications from local pharmacies to maintain their health and well-being. Meaning that well before this pandemic began and more so in its wake, their livelihoods are intricately tied to the in-person support of their DSPs (direct support professionals), the routine schedules of delivery workers and house managers, and the access to and efficacy of personal protective equipment.
The Inclusion Club was created to allow supporters to increase their impact and enrich the lives of hundreds of people in central Alabama with IDD. Any amount helps:
Now is the time to join The Inclusion Club and commit to walk alongside us during this crisis, by helping provide the necessary tools to protect our DSPs on the frontlines and in turn, the people we serve. Your gift is the best assurance that we can do this.
Making your donation recurring ensures that The Arc’s budget is a strong and steady income source to continue providing meaningful support and services to those we care for the most deeply.
Thank you — we could not fight this fight without you!
