        Winter is here.

Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley will soon be experiencing freezing temperatures, flooding and even heavy snow. As another harsh winter sets in, both Syrian and Lebanese families will struggle to keep their children fed and warm. Salam LADC are aiming to provide at least 200 of the most vulnerable families with food parcels, diesel for their heating systems and warm blankets to get them through the coldest months. Can you help us?

Why should you donate this year?

Lebanon is currently experiencing one of the worst financial crises that the world has seen since the mid-1800s, made worse by the global pandemic and the 2020 Beirut explosion. In October 2019, 35% of Lebanon’s population lived below the poverty line. By March 2021 that figure was 78%.

Homes are heated with diesel. Since January 2021 the price of diesel has risen by 1212%. The cost of other essentials, like food staples and hygiene items, have also increased by at least 500%.

Populations that were already vulnerable have been the hardest hit.  94% of Syrian families in Bekaa are now living in extreme poverty, earning less than they need for their most basic physical needs.

Families in Lebanon are facing a cold and dark winter. Recurrent blackouts, alongside fuel and medicine shortages, have disrupted every aspect of daily life. But with your support, we can bring food, warmth and smiles to the houses and tents of Bekaa.

Even 1 dollar can be helpful! Every contribution helps us support vulnerable people through the winter. The more we raise, the more we can do.

Thank you for caring! Love, the Salam LADC team
