Once again, an anonymous donor to Huntsville Ballet has offered to match every dollar raised up to $26,000 of the $75,000 needed to support our 2019-2020 season. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to raise the funds needed to continue to bring you extraordinary performances in the upcoming season.
Your gift to Huntsville Ballet allows us to continue to be North Alabama’s source and ambassador of extraordinary ballet experiences that give life to the classical tradition, nurture new ideas and empower children with an undying love for the arts.
Huntsville Ballet opens the 2019-2020 season in October with Phantom of the Ballet. Back by popular demand, Phantom of the Ballet made its world premiere in the fall of 2017. Based on Gaston Leroux’s 1910 horror novel, Phantom of the Ballet follows the story of the disfigured Phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House.
The holidays bring our 51st annual offering of The Nutcracker performed with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. Set in the 1850’s in Huntsville, Alabama, our production of The Nutcracker brings to life Huntsville’s own rich antebellum history through period costuming, scenery, and historical characters.
We close the season in April with Peter Pan, a retelling of Sir James Barrie's classic. Join us in Neverland for the adventures of the Lost Boys, Captain Hook, swashbuckling pirates, a hungry crocodile, pixie dust and of course, Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn't grow up.
In addition to our performances, we are excited to continue to engage with our community through the Discover Dance program offering opportunities to nourish the mind and body through movement for school-age children as well as adults. For a second year, we’re partnering with another non-profit, Village of Promise, to launch a dance education residency at their community center.
Huntsville Ballet thanks you for your patronage and for recognizing the importance of the arts in our community. As a non-profit performing arts organization, our growth directly reflects the creative and enterprising spirit of the growing city of Huntsville.
Please join us in supporting the 2019-2020 season with a monetary gift. Contributions may also be mailed to Huntsville Ballet, 800 Regal Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35801. We thank you for your tax-deductible contribution and for helping us meet our goal.
