2020 has been one of the most challenging years in the history of the Village of the Blue Rose.
Just after the passing of our long-time Executive Director, Donna Ringling, we also lost Rose Gronemeyer, one of the Village founders and the men's house parent for the past seventeen years, who had stepped in as the Acting Executive Director. These women were the heart and soul of the Village for many years, and each is irreplaceable in her own way.
Simultaneously, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every aspect of the Village of the Blue Rose. Since March, we have had to cancel every fundraising event, and the Village Restaurant, Bed & Breakfast, and Thrift, Gift & Antique Shops were closed from March through September. With an abundance of precautions in place, we were able to re-open with limited capacity, but our business remains slow.
So the revenue streams we rely on to provide housing and services for our residents, employ our staff, and keep the Village operating are down dramatically, while the costs we incur continue.
Our need for additional funding has never been greater.
But with these great challenges comes a great opportunity for you to make a difference in our residents' lives.
Because we accept no state or federal funding, we need your help now more than ever! Will you please consider a one-time or recurring gift? Whether it's $5, $50, or $500, every dollar goes to support and improve the lives of our special residents.
As we approach the end of this tumultuous year, we want to express our gratitude for all the ways you've helped the Village of the Blue Rose remain successful. Through monetary contributions, endless giving of your time, talents, and creative problem solving, you have kept the Village mission moving forward since 1992. Without you, the Village would have ceased to exist many years ago. Because of you, we are still here!
