ATTENTION: ALL REJECTED MEMBERS & APPLICANTS OF QALIPU FIRST NATION
FRIENDS OF QALIPU ADVOCACY ASSOCIATION would like to communicate that we are now in fundraising mode.
Chief JENNIFER BRAKE (Corner Brook), and ANDREW BARKER (Grand Falls-Windsor) have pursued court action in the Newfoundland Court of Appeal to reverse the Newfoundland Supreme Court Ruling. Our ruling favored those oppressed by both Qalipu and the Government of Canada. Brake/Barker seem to wish to continue the trend of oppression.
We thank and encourage everyone who has donated and participated in this justice seeking process. The trial is scheduled to be heard in the Newfoundland Appeals Court on November 17, 2025 - we are preparing now!
It is anticipated that this will be our last court action in Newfoundland and that the FINAL STAGE will be fought in the Supreme Court of Canada.
BASIS OF OUR COURT ACTION
(1) Membership Oppression
(2) Federation of Newfoundland Indians (FNI) did not have proper corporate authority to sign the Supplemental Agreement
