Student's sleeping and living space abroad is of no little importance. Though a subtle element, how they feel where they sleep, bathe and stay up at night laughing or sharing, makes a huge impact on their time abroad. We are seeking out low-budget items for simple yet beautiful furnishings, but ensuring that vital elements, corresponding to their human dignity and an ordered life, are taken care of.
They need to have at least enough organizational space for the items they bring over in their 2 suitcases. Mattresses should be comfortable enough to get a good night's rest. 10 girls sharing 2 bathrooms means that a horizontal mirror should be hung on the wall for getting ready in the morning.
You can create this home-away-from-home for the 10 young ladies coming in May. They will be the first in this suite, which will house students in all programs to come. Whether it's enough for a bed or plant, it's a needed gift so we can launch! Donations have already covered the men's suite, in-house staff suite, and phase 1 of the living room and dining/study room.
Please note that costs are associated with prices of desired items from Mercury Market and Ikea in Krakow, and fluctuations of currency exchange from Polish PLN to USD has been taken into account. If there are good sales, we'll take them! If the items we need are no longer available at those stores, we will seek them from other local merchants, whose prices may vary. Any extra funds raised will be used for Phase 2 of our furniture fund, which will complete the community kitchen, dining room, living room, and fully furnish the other 2 student suites on our wing.
Specific requests for usage of your donation are welcome in the notes!
