My name is Farida Khalaf. I grew up in a remote Yazidi village in Northern Iraq. I was just a high school student when the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) ravaged my village. They murdered men, including my father and brother, and took women and children as prisoners.
I was held in captivity for four months with other women, abused, physically, sexually and psychologically. Fortunately, I had the willpower to survive, and I managed to escape.
Having lived through this experience, I have been raising awareness about the suffering of survivors and victims, through The Farida Global Organization in Germany. Together with a dedicated team of volunteers, we have been planning and developing impact-oriented projects in the Sinjar region of Iraq to support victims and survivors of the ISIS genocide in Iraq.
We are all committed to ensuring the voices of the thousands of people who were enslaved, particularly those of women and young girls, be heard.
We are grateful that you are reaching out to us and considering donating to our purpose. In doing so, you are providing a helping hand and your gift will help support survivors of ISIS.
