Christmas Funding Appeal: Give hope to refugees in Moria this Christmas
I am alone here with my young children. Before I spoke to European Lawyers in Lesvos I was completely lost. Their assistance was very beneficial. Thanks to them I was able to understand the asylum process and then to explain in my interview why I left my country and cannot go back. They play a huge role in helping the refugees. Fatima, 28, Syria.
European Lawyers in Lesvos is a registered charity, so donations are tax-deductible*.
Thanks to the generous donations we have received, in the last 2.5 years we have provided free legal assistance to over 8,600 refugees on Lesvos, including over 400 unaccompanied minors.
Our work makes a real difference: of those we have assisted, 74.5% have been granted asylum, compared to an average of 46.5% in Greece. We have also been able to help over 2,400 vulnerable people move out of Moria/Lesvos and over 750 people be recognised as eligible to be reunited with their family members elsewhere in Europe.
However, thousands of people remain in Moria, most of whom are women or children, and the need for legal assistance is greater than ever. We have therefore launched a Christmas Funding Appeal to help ensure we can continue our work to protect human rights and uphold the rule of law.
Please donate to help refugees in Moria this Christmas.
You can donate by debit/credit card using the form to the left, by bank transfer to the account below or by PayPal (below). We are extremely grateful for all donations.
