Now more than ever, students need great teachers. Schools across the country are moving to distance learning or closing for the rest of the school year. In addition to the challenges transitioning to distance learning, school leaders would typically be recruiting and hiring high-quality, diverse teachers and staff for the upcoming school year. However, with social distancing and shelter-in-place orders becoming the new norm, school leaders are finding themselves turning to a virtual recruitment and hiring process with limited or no additional resources. Our students deserve high-quality, diverse teachers and staff, and our schools need the support in making sure that happens.
To support schools, EdFuel has developed a three-step responsive approach. Our approach includes:
-Hosting Virtual Teacher Job Fairs. EdFuel will be hosting virtual teacher job fairs in partnership with our local education partners. These job fairs will provide schools the opportunity to reach the high-quality, diverse teachers and staff they need for the upcoming school year.
-Providing 1:1 Support. Over the next several weeks and months, we will be working shoulder-to-shoulder with our school partners to build their capacity to recruit virtually, hire, and onboard high-quality, diverse teachers and staff.
-Serving as a Thought Leader. We have worked with some of the most innovative leaders and organizations across the education sector to build easy-to-use, open-source tools, and resources. To support the entire education ecosystem, we will be sharing these tools and resources broadly by hosting virtual workshops highlighting national best practices and case studies in effective virtual recruitment and hiring strategies.
By launching our emergency response campaign, we will be able to support more schools during this crisis. EdFuel has set a goal of raising $50,000 to build the capacity of schools to recruit and hire teachers and staff virtually during COVID-19. Your gift will be used to help implement our emergency response plan, ultimately helping schools recruit and hire high-quality, diverse talent.
