Goal
Dear Friends,
We have had a busy year providing a safety net for Connecticut’s companion animals!
At CVMF, we are fortunate to have strong community support that ensures we can help those who call upon us. Thank you to all who have donated. Your contributions allow us to provide for the healthcare and safety of pets in our community, persistent needs to which our organization continually responds.
Funds raised this year will help to cover the cost of our Companions Assistance Program vouchers, which provide financial assistance to help low-income pet owners afford veterinary care. There is tremendous need and ours is one of the few direct assistance programs in Connecticut.
Support of the CVMF recently helped Connecticut dog Joy to receive important routine veterinary care. Joy’s owner used a voucher to cover the cost of a physical exam, annual vaccines and a heartworm test at a Southeastern Connecticut animal hospital. Regular check-ups are key to preventing long-term health problems and allow the veterinarian to catch and treat issues early. This keeps Joy healthy and gives her family peace of mind, especially when this preventative veterinary care would otherwise be financially out of reach.
CVMF has many other programs to help Connecticut’s pets in need, such as emergency sheltering and safe sheltering for the pets of people impacted by domestic violence. Our work is funded by donations from individuals and the veterinary industry, including the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association.
We are grateful for your contributions! All who make a donation of $25 or more before December 31 will be entered in a raffle to win a $250 gift certificate to one of the following (your choice): Blue Apron, Muse Paint Bar, Target, Winc (wine delivery).
Thank you,
Howard Asher, DVM – President
