My name is Felix Emmanuel Chidokwe, and I’m reaching out to you with a father’s heart, heavy yet hopeful. I want to tell you about my little boy, Emmanuel Julius—my pride, my joy, my reason to keep pushing forward. He turned 4 this February, and I’ve attached his picture so you can see the bright spark in his eyes, the kind of light that deserves to shine even brighter with opportunity.
Life hasn’t been kind to us lately. I lost my job back when we lived in Lagos, and since then, it’s been a struggle to find solid ground. Last year, we moved to Asaba, Delta State, to stay with my sister, hoping for a fresh start. But the truth is, I still haven’t found steady work. These days, I take whatever odd jobs I can—small tasks that pay me 5,000 or 6,000 Naira when they come. But they don’t come often, and what little I earn barely keeps food on the table for us.
It breaks my heart to say this, but my son—my Emmanuel—hasn’t been to school since September last year. Every day he’s not learning, not laughing with other kids, not growing the way he should, feels like a piece of his future slipping away. As a father, there’s no pain deeper than knowing your child is missing out—not because he doesn’t want to learn, but because I can’t give him what he needs right now.
I’m here, humbly asking for your help, because I believe in the goodness of people, in the power of a community coming together. I’m not asking for myself—I’m asking for Emmanuel. I want to see him back in a classroom, his little hands holding a pencil, his mind opening up to the world. I’ve calculated that 2,000,000 Naira would cover his school fees, books, and everything he needs to start again. It’s a lifeline—a chance for him to catch up, to thrive, until, God willing, I can find a better job and carry him forward from there.
Please, if you can find it in your heart to give, even a little, you’d be giving my son more than money—you’d be giving him hope, a future, a chance to dream. And I pray with all my soul that every blessing you share with us comes back to you tenfold. May your kindness ripple through your own life, keeping you and your loved ones surrounded by good things.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I see you, I appreciate you, and I’ll never forget the hand you lend us in this moment.
