My grandmother was taken by Nazi Germany from Ukraine - Donetsk region in WW2. In Germany she met my grandfather and moved after the war to Belgium. With telecommunications not being what it is today, I have vague memories of her making long phone calls in a language I did not understand and saw her crying from time to time.
She was the most loving grand mother I could have and did everything she could to integrate, learn the language, befriend with the neighbours.
May she rest in peace, here's to contributing a donation, may it perhaps lead to freeing territory of long lost nephews or nieces.
