Your donation helps COOP equip first-generation and low-income college graduates with the skills and connections they need for the careers they deserve.
COOP Careers was founded in 2014 by Kalani Leifer. The first cohort had just 12 fellows all learning about digital marketing.
Now our fellowship serves about 2,000 fellows per year, across New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami in three tracks, data analytics, digital marketing, and financial services. In the last 11 years, we have built an alumni network of close to 8,000.
As an alumni-led organization, the fellowship is taught by those who have received the benefits of the program who come back to work part-time, often in addition to their full-time jobs.
This GivingTuesday, our goal is to raise funds and awareness so we can expand our resources and services we provide to our fellows and alumni. Every year, one million first-generation and low-income students graduate from college believing that a bachelor’s degree will provide long-term economic well-being for themselves and their families. A shocking number never realize this promise.
Historically, 70% of our alumni are fully employed within 12 months of completing the fellowship! Your donation will help COOP connect more first-gen, low-income college grads to the network they need to land their first good job after college.
