Health Care Without Harm is the backbone organization for hospitals and clinics around the world helping them play a broader healing role in our society.
We are doing this by:
helping hospitals transition to renewable energy, knowing that eliminating fossil fuels will clean up our air and prevent asthma and respiratory diseases.
helping health systems detox their supplies and buildings because we know eliminating toxic chemicals from our economy will eliminate exposures that contribute to cancer and other chronic diseases.
teaching health systems how to purchase local and sustainable food to feed their patients and employees because we want to heal food systems that lead to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
working with health systems to use their purchasing power to invest in communities of color who have been disenfranchised for generations as a step toward healing the institutional racism that has so wounded our nation.
As a society, we must address what is destroying earth’s life support systems and damaging our health. Health Care Without Harm is at the forefront of this work, leading the health care sector to heal their communities and the planet which sustains us all.
We simply can’t have healthy people on a sick planet.
