Goal
Honor the memory of L128 and protect its surviving family by helping us plant 128 trees at one of our salmon habitat restoration sites.
For every donation, you will receive a digital certificate with the coordinates and photograph of your tree(s), along with a printable photo of L128. *Please note our next tree planting event is slated for January/February of next year. Tree certificates will be sent out afterwards once your tree has been planted.
The biggest threat impacting the remaining 72 Southern Resident killer whales is the lack of food, Chinook salmon. To address this issue, Orca Conservancy has two salmon habitat restoration sites in the Green-Duwamish watershed. Trees planted on these sites provide shade over streams, creeks, and rivers, which helps keep water temperatures cool which salmon need to survive. They also offer a variety of important benefits including filtering toxic runoff into waterways, preventing erosion, and providing habitat for insects that young salmon prey on.
By supporting our work and funding trees for our restoration sites, you are helping L128s family.
