Foster Moe and Chu
Moe and Chu are living their best lives at the Isara Elephant Foundation.
Moehpo—affectionately nicknamed "Po-lou" for being short and cute—is around 35 years old. She spent her entire life working under harsh conditions in the logging industry along the Thai-Myanmar border.
Boonchu, now in her 40s, also endured years of labor in both the logging and riding industries. Today, she is retired and thriving in sanctuary at the Isara Elephant Foundation in the northern hills of Thailand. Free from exploitation, Boonchu now spends her days foraging in the forest alongside Moehpo.
