Elect Dr. Janie Myers Vigo County Coroner

  I am a local surgeon who is campaigning for Vigo County Coroner. I feel strongly about helping others through those stressful times and making the process as smooth as possible. My goal is to provide the best service, possible, during these times by working closing with crime scene investigators. As someone who has worked in trauma and witnessed many autopsies, I am uniquely qualified for this position.  As a physician, I agree with Dr. Kohr and Dr. Amos, past County Coroners,  that a community our size needs to have physician Coroner who is able to decide, based on medical knowledge which cases merit an autopsy, and which do not.  This medical knowledge at the scene has helped sort out accident/homicide vs. suicide/natural plenty of times.  Since Dr. Kohr took over the position in 1989, Vigo County will have had a physician as a coroner for the past 32 years.  In addition to myself, there will be several others running for the office.  I am the only physician.
