Educational Network, Content and Maintenance
The children at the GMAD Academy of Learning use tablets and laptops to learn. We are, perhaps the only school in rural Ghana to incorporate this type of technology. Our curriculum, delivered by the tablets and laptops, helps the kids learn and develop regardless of their unique circumstance or their experience in school prior to being rescued and brought to GMAD.
Right now we have an opportunity to jump to a new educational network, a new system. This new system would be supported and maintained by in-country (Ghanaian) experts. This company has worked with major international organizations to establish secondary and higher education learning centers, and they are willing to set up a system for us at their cost! Which is $11,632.
Getting this new system does the following:
1) regular maintenance and technology upgrades (where necessary) of the tech used at our school.
2) gives the GMAD students and teachers access to world renowned educational content.
3) Gives us immediate support in Ghana to our teachers. Gone are the days when a tech "hick-up" delays education.
4) Brings fiberoptic internet to GMAD, this is important because it allows us to install a closed network for educational learning at our school and the children's shelter
If the GMAD kids were my own kids, providing this new system would be a must!
Moving to this new system has a large upfront cost and a relatively very low month to month cost. The month to month will be totally covered through our volunteer programs but we need your help to get the funds for the upfront expense.
