Educational Awards in Sierra Leone (EASL)
Although all children in Sierra Leone are now entitled to a free secondary school education, families have to cover costs for uniforms, books, other equipment and exams.
This means that many families simply can't afford to send their children to secondary school. One in three children do not have this opportunity. These educational awards make a real difference.
Awards go directly to families with amounts of up to £57 per student depending on the year of study. Awards are prioritised for children who have completed their primary education in a state-funded school and may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend or complete secondary school.
The fund was registered as Education Awards in Sierra Leone (EASL) with HMRC in 2010.
