Goal
In a world that keeps evolving with technology that continues to advance, agriculture remains an essential field that has yet to reach its full potential. It is at the backbone of our society, yet it is undergoing a global challenge. The ageing generation of our farmer populations are an urgent issue felt in every part of the world.
In the face of climate change, depleted resources, diminishing land, soil erosion, and various other challenges negatively impacting the industry, the dwindling number of farmers, and lack of interest from young people in leading the agriculture industry forward, has emerged as a pressing issue that demands our attention to resolve.
As of today, based on data from Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture, the total of Indonesian farmers is 33 million people – 70% of which are aged above 45 years old. Older farmers are dominating the number of total farmers in the country.
So what can we do to help?
The Green School Foundation's Agricultural University Scholarships offer a unique agricultural education to Indonesian youth, particularly the children of farmers, instilling cutting-edge farming knowledge and practices.
Your contribution supports the education of future conscious farmers, funding a four-year university degree with mentorship and development training focused on agricultural regeneration. Join us in cultivating a community of young farmers poised to not only nourish our future but positively impact the global economy and agriculture industry.
Together, let's sow the seeds of sustainable change
Why do we conduct this scholarship program?
The upcoming problem of an ageing farmer population across the world is most certainly concerning in terms of ensuring successful and efficient food production in the future.
Fewer younger generations choose to work for agriculture because of the limited resources of materials and education.
In order to solve this issue, GSF is taking the initiative to attract younger demographics towards agriculture by providing university scholarships, professional development opportunities and support to help them become thriving, conscious farmers who will bring future food security.
The Goals of the Agricultural University Scholarship Programs:
To provide the youth agricultural education and innovative learning experience that teaches cutting-edge farming solutions for them to become the next generation of conscious farmers.
Provide full-ride university scholarships to children of farmers in underserved communities
Build a community of young farmers exploring the earning potential of becoming a successful and established farming expert
Co-contribute solutions to future-proof food supply, agricultural growth and environmental sustainability
-----
"Farmers keep the world fed and clothed."
– This message paints a picture of the vast opportunities awaiting young farmers, encouraging them to view farming as a vital, rewarding and even 'cool' profession. As farmers age, it becomes crucial for the younger generation to step in and support.
Green School Foundation’s mission is to use the power of education and impactful community collaborations to raise environmental sustainability awareness and responsibility for the future generation. Join us in this journey to create meaningful change in the lives of farming families. Together, we can educate for change and create more #RegenerativeAgriculture.
