Goal

What is this research about?

Ecological research here centers on urban birds and trust dynamics. Current work follows Great-tailed Grackles and Rock Pigeons in the desert Southwest through close attention.

Currently, I have a backlog of bird logs from a year of observation. Plus, I've recorded audiovisual data of a developing human-bird call.

What Support Covers

  • Bird feed for six months

  • 8x42 binoculars for field observation and documentation

Cost breakdown

  • Bird feed: $210

  • Binoculars: $300

  • Total goal: $510

More about ecological research

Research on my professional sites treats urban birds as neighbors rather than background scenery. Bird-log writing and field notes follow flock movement; food negotiation; visible individual differences; and the social texture of repeated encounters in Las Vegas.

A preprint with calculations, feed research, and supporting notes is coming soon.

Why Support Matters

Support helps me begin local and regional environmental education work for youth. Better feed and clearer field visibility make ethical observation easier in Las Vegas.

Additionally, with support, I can strengthen the kind of documentation I can teach from. The larger goal is to help young people encounter urban birds with care, curiosity, and respect.
