ECI Pollinator Program - Sponsor A Hive
ECI Sponsor A Hive Program
The Ecological Culture Initiative is raising funds to support the Pollinator Project at St. Joseph Villa, 81 Lynn Ave, Hampton Bays, NY.
You can help by sponsoring a beehive • $500 per hive
For each year that you sponsor a hive, you will receive 10 lbs. of ECI's Good Ground Honey in late July. You will also be invited to participate in beehive classes to be led by ECI Master Beekeeper Chris Kelly and ECI President/Agro-Ecology Director Rachel Stephens (stay tuned for class dates later this year!).
ECI has set up European Honey Bee beehives and a native pollinator garden at the Good Ground Heritage Garden at St. Joseph Villa in Hampton Bays. The hives are used as an educational tool in conjunction with the adjacent native pollinator and vegetable gardens. The native pollinator garden also serves as a Monarch Waystation. Bees pollinate 75 percent of the fruits, nuts and vegetables grown in the United States, but the increased use of pesticides and fungicides has caused a sharp nationwide decline in bee populations and other pollinators.
If you prefer postal mail, we welcome checks payable to the "Ecological Culture Initiative" with "Sponsor A Hive" as a memo sent to "PO Box 1035, Hampton Bays, NY 11946"
Or contribute online using Donorbox, which offers options for Credit Card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and ACH Electronic Bank Transfers.
Whichever way you can help, ECI thanks you for your support!
