3rd Annual Dancing with the Doctors August 23rd, 2025!

I was inspired to join Dancing with the Doctors because Maya and Dr Roxana Dronca’s story deeply resonated with me as a mother.

I can’t begin to imagine the strength it took for Maya to face an inoperable and incurable brain tumor, fighting for her life with such courage. And I’m in awe of Roxana — not only as a mother walking alongside her daughter through unimaginable pain, but also as an oncologist, fully aware of the prognosis and the stark limitations in real-world patient care. What moves me most is how Roxana continues to channel her loss into purpose, honoring Maya’s life by creating light for other children and families navigating similar journeys.

Unfortunately, pediatric cancer research is severely underfunded, and now, more than ever, we’re seeing the impact of shrinking federal support. This year, I’m dancing to bring awareness and help change the story, because research can’t stop. Progress can’t stall. So, this is where funding from foundations like the Maya Dronca Foundation, industry, and individuals like us must step in to keep hope alive.

This year, I’m stepping far out of my comfort zone to perform a cha-cha to “Ma Baker” by Boney M with my incredible instructor Gil Maldonado. For me, this dance is about more than steps. It’s about strength. It’s about resilience. It’s for Maya. And for every child whose life could be changed — or saved... through better care, research, and support.
