Goal

Support the Mustangs of Disappointment Valley Mustang Sanctuary

Nestled in the rugged, arid beauty of southwestern Colorado’s high desert, the Disappointment Valley Mustang Sanctuary is a haven for wild mustangs that risked falling through the cracks. This refuge is home to a special herd of 30+ mustangs, primarily seniors and those who struggled in captivity. These majestic creatures, most of which were rounded up from their native Spring Creek Basin HMA, now roam freely across thousands of acres, rediscovering the joy of a life untamed.

Life in this desert sanctuary comes with challenges. The region’s scarce rainfall and salty soil greatly limit natural forage. To keep our herd healthy, we rely heavily on supplemental hay—a critical expense that ensures these resilient seniors and sensitive souls thrive. Our next hay order is coming due, and every dollar helps us reach the $20K total. Your donation makes a direct impact, and by signing up to be a monthly donor, you'll play a key role in helping us to provide their forever home. Every dollar goes toward purchasing hay, maintaining water supplies, and preserving the sanctuary’s fences and land, giving these mustangs the care and freedom they deserve.  Please join us in protecting these living legends. Your tax-deductible gift to the Disappointment Valley Mustang Sanctuary, a proud project of the Serengeti Foundation, ensures that these mustangs—seniors, survivors, and those who shy from human touch—can live out their days in dignity and freedom.

Donate today and help keep the spirit of the wild alive.
