Row2 Hold Fast 2025 Fundraising event is back for its fourth year, uniting communities to raise awareness and funds for the Big Fish Foundation. Together, we’re making a tangible impact in the lives of Veterans.
OUR STORY
Jodi & Sam Walter
Every $1,500 raised sends one Veteran to a transformative Big Fish Foundation event. These retreats provide connection, resilience, and healing — an experience many call life-changing.
In 2024, the Row2 Hold Fast community funded 18 Veterans to attend a Big Fish event.
In 2025, we’re setting our sights even higher: to fund 30 Veterans and help them to bridge the gap between military service and civilian life.
CrossFit Falcon View is aiming to raise $7500! That means that collectively, CrossFit Falcon View will be responsible for sending 5 veterans to an event!
This is a bold goal — but one that can be accomplished as a community.

OUR STORY
Before we found Big Fish Foundation, both Sam and I were struggling — as veterans, as spouses, and as individuals. We had built communities around us, but still felt isolated. Away from family and unsure how to find purpose after service, we were drifting. Our marriage was hanging by a thread. We loved each other, but we were lost.
Then we were introduced to Big Fish Foundation — and everything started to change.
Our first event at JL Bar Ranch was the first time since we both retired that we were amongst people who just "got it." People who understood what it meant to be Servicemember and then a Veteran. We met people who showed up with honesty and vulnerability. We found belonging. We found community. But this wasn't simply a retreat. After all, Big Fish's pillars are Connection. Growth. Service. So there was work to do.
At JL Bar and subsequent events we attended workshops, listened to speakers, and did all the work (mental, emotional, and physical) to heal, to grow, and to become the best version of ourselves. These experiences reignited something in both of us: courage, connection, and the desire and tools to do the hard work to become better -- as individuals, in our marriage, and as parents.
Big Fish Foundation does so much more than intervene in a crisis. They prevent veterans from getting to crisis in the first place by inspiring growth and service. It's "Gloves on. Not hands out." with Big Fish Foundation. They challenge us to do the hard mental, emotional, and physical work. Because at the heart of the Big Fish Foundation is their unwavering belief that the traits we gained in the military -- service, loyalty, integrity, courage, to name a few -- still have a valuable place in our daily lives. Big Fish inspires Veterans to continue to do the work, to lean into those traits, and continue to serve -- in our relationships, our families, our workplace, and our communities. Big Fish Foundation isn't just changing the lives of veterans. They are changing the lives of every person in those veterans' communities.
As for us? Well, the growth hasn't been easy. But nothing worth having comes by easily. Our marriage and family is stronger than ever. We both have clear purpose and continue to serve. And, we have real community. We know, without a doubt, that every person we've connected with is in our corner, without fail.
And that is why we are taking on DT’s Row 2 Hold Fast — so more Veterans can experience the hope, courage, growth, and community that helped us remember who we are — and reclaim the purpose we were always meant to live out.
Hold Fast.
