Hello from Mutare, Zimbabwe!

In 2018, only 31.5% of parliamentarians in Zimbabwe were women. We see issues of gender discrimination and gender stereotyping every day, which is why we decided to start a Dream Equal chapter. But, we cannot combat gender stereotypes alone. As a new chapter, we need your help to empower children and help them evolve into leaders.

We have big dreams for what this chapter can accomplish. We hope to engage communities around Zimbabwe in the Dream Equal mission to redefine feminine and masculine to human. We have planned several opportunities for children to learn and grow, and all that stands in our way is the financial barrier, which is why we need your help.

If you participate in our fundraiser, your contribution will help fund gender equality workshops for 60 children, with a goal of encouraging them to become gender equality advocates in their homes, schools, and communities. We already have comprehensive plans for three months of programming, and hope to expand in the future.

Our ideas go beyond just workshops. We also want to take action against gender inequality with a march against gender-based violence, a sports gala to encourage sportsmanship and teamwork, a meeting with important figures and organizations involved in gender equality advocacy throughout Zimbabwe, and much more. Finally, we hope to purchase a laptop so that we can continue to communicate with Dream Equal movements around the world and ensure that our chapter is successful in the long-term.
