Help Us Launch Detroit’s Mobile School History Museum

Your support will help us bring the Detroit Public Schools History Museum to life by transforming our donated bus into a fully operational traveling exhibition and building the team and resources needed to sustain it. Campaign funding will support:

Building the Mobile Exhibition

• Preparing the bus mechanically and ensuring it meets safety standards for public use
• Designing and fabricating the exhibition, including oral history stations, augmented reality storytelling, and archival displays
• Creating a website and digital storytelling platform to expand the museum beyond the bus
• Establishing archival and storage space for historical materials and community donations

Investing in People and Learning

• Providing stipends and part-time support for bus drivers, historians, and research staff
• Conducting a global learning tour of museums and cultural institutions to inform exhibition design and best practices
• Developing educational materials and merchandise to support community engagement and long-term sustainability
