Doors Open Milwaukee - Donation
10th Annual Doors Open Fundraiser
While this 10th anniversary of Doors Open looks different, we are still excited to showcase our wonderful city and celebrate our art, architecture and neighborhoods with you! In celebration of this great event, we would like to invite you to support Historic Milwaukee and show your pride for our city.
The past several months have been challenging for nonprofits that rely on in-person programs and tours for the majority of their revenue. At Historic Milwaukee, tours and programs make up 42% of our revenue. We postponed the Riverwest/Harambee Spaces & Traces neighborhood tour to May 2021 and cancelled months of walking tours and in-person programs.
We have been working diligently to ensure the longevity of our organization while safeguarding staff and volunteers. We received a Payroll Protection Program forgivable loan of $37,100 in April and were awarded two other emergency grants: $7,500 from the Wisconsin Humanities Council and $6,200 from the Milwaukee Arts Board. Even with these grants, we are facing a budget shortfall of approximately $50,000 this year.
Since 1974, Historic Milwaukee has been delivering in-person tours and programs like Doors Open using a volunteer service delivery model, consider donating today.
Donation update: As part of the COVID-19 stimulus package passed by Congress, you are able to take a $300 charitable giving tax deduction, even if you don’t itemize your taxes.
