North Country Chorus FY25 Annual Appeal
Dear Friends of Music,
The community choir that is the North Country Chorus continues to thrive after more than seven decades under the steady, patient leadership of our director, Alan Rowe. Everyone who experienced our performances of Leonard Bernstein’s “Mass” last spring agreed that the Chorus is steadily achieving new heights of choral excellence.
We hope you can celebrate with us at our 2024 Holiday Concert. Seventy singers will be performing Benjamin Britten’s beloved “Ceremony of Carols” and the enchanting suite of “Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest” by Conrad Susa. We will also sing Mendelssohn's stirring classic “Behold a Star from Jacob Shining.”
The talented young singers of St. Johnsbury Academy’s select choral ensemble, the Hilltones, will will round the program with their fine harmonies.
Our performances are on Saturday, December 7, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, December 8, at 3 pm. Both concerts are in the United Community Church at 1325 Main St., St. Johnsbury.
We are pleased to again open the doors to our concerts by donation. Our audiences have shown their appreciation for this policy; concert revenue has been comparable to our ticket sales of previous years. Even so, without the additional gifts of supporters like you we would not be able to cover the costs of music, professional instrumental ensembles and leadership, and many other expenses. Your donations also support the North Country Youth Chorus, now under the expert direction of Victoria Cole. This music program for students in grades 3 through 8 is nurturing a love of choral singing that lasts a lifetime.
Thank you for showing your love of music and local community arts by your attendance and gifts.
