Spread Hope During Ramadan: Help Newly Arrived Afghans Resettle

Our grassroots, award-winning community-led organization has supported over 400 Afghans seeking asylum in New York City. We are working to provide them with critical, life-saving support, legal assistance as well as essential community protection.

We host monthly community gatherings where we provide a halal, home-cooked Afghan meal, along with legal support, cell phone support, general intake/support. Through these events, these families have been able to create a community of their own, as they navigate the difficult transition of settling in to a new home.

In 2023, we have:

• provided 300 Google Pixel phones with a one year unlimited service plan.
• hosted legal clinics for asylum applications.
• helped file 24 asylum applications.
• raised $9,300 for food assistance.
