Create Sustainable Lives for Teen Moms in the Slum
Teen girls are the most vulnerable population in Uganda's largest slum, Namuwongo. They have rarely been to school and are often encouraged or forced into sex work by their mothers or peers as a way to survive.
Touch the Slum is the only FREE program for teen moms and teen girls in Namuwongo. We offer crisis intervention, a residential program, Skills for Life vocational school, Basic Literacy, counseling, and entrepreneurship training to break this cycle of poverty and early pregnancy.
100% of your donation goes to the work.
All of our staff is FROM the community and IN the community. They are dedicated to changing the culture for teen girls. We have been working in the Namuwongo community since January 2009.
