Provide free literacy, skills, and care for teen girls in Uganda's largest slum

WHY

Teen girls are the most vulnerable population in Uganda's largest slum, Namuwongo. They are rarely able to attend school and are often encouraged or forced into sex work by their mothers or peers as a way to survive.

WHAT

Touch the Slum is the only FREE program for teen moms and teen girls in Namuwongo. We offer crisis intervention with a residential program, holistic literacy and skills programs, and entrepreneurship training to break this cycle of poverty and early pregnancy.

HOW

100% of your donation goes to the work so that we can offer free programs to the girls in our program.

WHO

All of our staff is FROM the Namuwongo slum and still IN the community. They are dedicated to changing the culture for teen girls.

Ten Eighteen has been working in the Namuwongo slum since January 2009

We are a 501c3 charitable organization, EIN 26-3867682. Your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law - please consult your tax advisor!
