Donate to Support the Center for Architecture and Design
This fall, the Baltimore Architecture Foundation with AIA Baltimore will open the Baltimore Center for Architecture and Design. Located in the landmark One Charles Center, the Center will be a high-profile, visible space to showcase the importance of architectural practice and design. It will serve as a dynamic hub to engage professionals, students, and the public.
It is a monumental move for us with monumental opportunities, and we need your help to make the exciting opportunities ahead of us a reality. Your contribution to BAF will fund exciting new programming at the Center, from comprehensive design workshops for youth through our Kids in Design initiatives to thought-provoking exhibitions.
Here are just a few ways the Center will serve our community and the public at large:
The Center is for Baltimore. It is a place where local designers can gather and network, students can engage in STEM workshops, and all Baltimoreans can join to discuss the latest exhibition or learn something new about our city.
The Center is an Anchor. Its location in the heart of downtown at One Charles Center provides a critical link between the soaring Miesian tower above and the lively streetscape just out the front door. Its central location alongside a transit hub and movement corridors draws visitors up from traditional destinations at the Inner Harbor and locals from all parts of the city and surrounding counties.
The Center is a Forum. It is a space to convene conversations about the built environment and the role of design in shaping our lives.
The Center is our opportunity to grow and better serve our mission. Shared exhibition and gallery spaces, studios, classrooms, and event spaces will offer engaging new programming on architecture, urban design, neighborhood history, historic architecture and new design projects.
