Donate to Mountain Empire Children's Choral Academy
Dear friends of the Mountain Empire Children's Choral Academy,
Thank you for your past support. Because of you we have been able to offer wonderful educational and performance opportunities for the youth in our region for the past 34 years! While last year presented many challenges, we overcame these difficulties and saw numerous successes, thanks to the efforts of our staff, parent coordinators, and supporters like you.
We were able to rehearse all year in person, thanks to our supporters who helped us secure safe spaces
We stayed connected with singers both in-person and online, thanks to our supporters who helped fund our new technology expenses
We provided live performances for our singers and community
We provided online access to our performances thanks to your financial support
We were chosen to participate in not one, but two international online choral festivals thanks to the
engineering work of our intern, whom you helped support
We secured grant funding from the Tennessee Arts Commission, due to our adaptability and vision
Despite these successes, we are not out of the woods where COVID is concerned. Many in our communities are fatigued and disheartened, and we know that now, more than ever, we must continue to provide quality programming for our young musicians. We are continuing to receive requests for financial help from our choir families, and wish to meet these needs so that all of our students can continue in choir.
How can you help us?
You can sponsor a singer! Children’s Choir tuition is $275 for the year, and Highlands Youth Ensemble tuition is $365.
You can underwrite the purchase of new music. Last year we programmed music from our existing library, but with new public concerts scheduled this year, we will be ordering new repertoire. One set of octavos for the children’s choir costs about $180. If you would like to sponsor one or more pieces, we would be grateful for the opportunity to list your name (or the name of your business) in our program.
If you do not wish to donate to anything specific, you can give a donation in honor or in memory of someone. As an example, we recently lost Helen King, whose husband, Carl D. King, established the East Tennessee Children’s Choir in 1987. We are receiving memorial contributions in her name, and in the names of many other champions of our organization.
Whether or not you can help us financially at this time, we hope to see you back in the audience this year, and also encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and our website: www.meccacademy.org Thank you for all you do to keep the music going in the lives of our young musicians! We are most appreciative of your support.
