Although COVID-19 has prevented us from rehearsing and performing as usual, MECCA remains committed to continue providing choral and music education programs for our students. This fall, we are offering both “in person” and virtual options. Artistic Director Jane Morison and accompanist Chris Yoder have gone above and beyond to provide an exemplary choral experience while maintaining safety protocols. We have transitioned to outdoor rehearsal venues, and all rehearsals will be live-streamed and available for singers who cannot attend in person.
This year, we need your help more than ever. Due to financial losses (including the absence of live concert donations) the MECCA Board made the difficult decision to reduce the annual budget by almost 50%, cutting four staff positions and reducing salaries by 1/3 for our three remaining staff. Here’s how you can help:
Our new technology costs are roughly $82 per month. You could sponsor a month – or an entire semester for $328.
New rehearsal venue costs are roughly $200 per month.
You can sponsor a singer. Children’s Choir yearly tuition is $275, and Highlands Youth Ensemble is $365.
As our incoming requests for tuition assistance have risen, if you wish to simply donate in honor or memory of a friend or family member, this is greatly appreciated as well!
