For over forty years, the Gerson Institute has been the leading global source of education, support, training and licensing in the Gerson Therapy, an internationally recognized treatment system using hyper-nutrition and detoxification to treat chronic degenerative diseases, including cancer.


Founded in 1978 by Charlotte Gerson, daughter of the pioneering Dr. Max Gerson, our mission is to provide education and training for the Gerson Therapy, spreading the life-saving benefits of the Gerson Therapy with the world. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, the continued support of our global community, and thousands of individuals who are living proof of the healing power of food as medicine, our work continues to touch lives.

As part of our mission, the Gerson Institute:


  • Guides and assists patients throughout the treatment onboarding process.

  • Provides structure for in-patient and out-patient Gerson Therapy services.

  • Licenses Gerson™ clinic locations worldwide.

  • Offers Web-Based Case Management services for eligible cases through our global Gerson Practitioner Network.

  • Conducts training and certifies medical professionals in the Gerson Therapy™ through the Gerson Practitioner Training Program.

  • Facilitates opportunities to speak with recovered Gerson™ patients through the Recovered Patients Network.

  • Creates, maintains and distributes Gerson Therapy education materials.

  • Maintains a list of Gerson-approved vendors for supplements and other necessary supplies.

  • Develops domestic and international partnerships to further awareness and support for the Gerson™ Therapy.

  • Houses historical records of Dr. Max Gerson, Charlotte Gerson and the Gerson Institute.

  • Operates an online shop for Gerson Therapy educational materials, supplies, books, videos and downloads, servicing more than 50 countries.
