EASTSIDE Magazine 2026

For six years, EASTSIDE Magazine has served as a community-powered platform where residents of East San José tell their own stories—through poetry, art, testimonios, and recuerdos—on their own terms. Together, these contributions form a living archive rooted in cultural pride, memory, and collective truth.

   Our 6th Anniversary [ En Movimiento ] honors the storytellers who have shaped this work and affirms a powerful truth: our communities deserve to be seen, heard, and remembered.

   This gathering is an intentional act of joy, resistance, and solidarity. At a time when marginalized voices are overlooked, oppressed, and denied, EASTSIDE invests in storytelling as a form of cultural capital, historical preservation, and narrative equity.  Our annual celebration brings together creatives, storykeepers, families, and local leaders to celebrate six years of collective impact.

Along the way, we've:

• Produced over 40,000 print copies

• Grown to 1,600+ digital subscribers and 4,500+ social media followers (and counting!)

• Collaborated with 280+ contributors—many emerging writers and creatives sharing their voices for the first time

• Supported 10–15 artists and contributors per issue with stipends

Every contribution directly supports our mission of keeping local storytelling alive and thriving.
